Do you need to store your boat, RV, car or other vehicle?

If you use your vehicle infrequently or it’s taking up too much space in your garage or driveway you might want to consider leasing a storage unit. Armor Storage has a variety of storage unit sizes that you can rent on a month to month basis. You can choose between uncovered parking spots, covered spaces, or large enclosed drive up spaces with power.

What type of storage unit should you get?

Uncovered Parking spots

If you are only planning to store your vehicle for a short amount of time, an uncovered parking spot might be the best option for you. Uncovered parking spots do not shield your vehicle from the elements, but it is the most affordable option when it comes to storing your vehicle.

Covered Spaces

Covered spaces are perfect if you are going to be storing your vehicle for three or more months. These spaces are leased most often with RV and boat owners because your vehicle is still semi-protected without the cost increase that comes with an indoor storage unit.

Large enclosed drive up spaces with power

These garage-like spaces are perfect for luxury cars, motorcycles, and other vehicles that you plan to store for long periods of time. A good thing to keep in mind is that large enclosed drive up spaces offer a higher level of security compared to covered and uncovered parking spots.

Tips for storing your vehicle:
  • Change the oil of your boat, car or RV and be sure to have a full tank of gas to reduce the chance of condensation entering your gas tank.
  • If you are storing a boat, tarp it with a mold-resistant fabric to protect it from staining. Additionally, remove the battery and all electronic equipment.
  • If you are storing a RV, shut all blinds to avoid damage to your drapes or carpet due to sun exposure. Please also turn off all gas appliances and cover any regulators that will be exposed to weather
  • Make sure your vehicle is clean before you store it. Giving your vehicle a good wash will clean off dirt and will protect the finish of your car. Be sure to vacuum out your RV or car to prevent any nasty odors or pests.
  • We recommend that you do not engage your parking brake. If you use your parking brake for extended periods of time it can cause damage to your brake pads and rotors.
